After winning in Antwerpen, Mathieu van der Poel also tastes success in the World Cup round in Gavere. The world champion attacked again early in the race and did not tolerate any opposition. Wout van Aert and Tom Pidcock flanked him on the podium.

Puck Pieterse was the strongest in the Gavere mud. The Dutch champion went on the attack in the very first lap and succeeded in holding off Fem van Empel and Ceylin Alvarado. It is Pieterse’s first World Cup win of the season.

There was no stopping Mathieu van der Poel in Antwerpen. The world champion had to correct a lopsided situation early in the race, but by lap three he had already embarked on an impressive solo. Van Aert came second, Iserbyt third.
