Mathieu van der Poel brimming with confidence in BenidormIn a lightning-fast and incredibly exciting cross under the Spanish sun, Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin – Deceuninck) sprinted to victory. He made it by a few metres ahead of Wout van Aert (Jumbo – Visma). Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels Sauzen – Bingoal) was allowed to join the podium. Laurens Sweeck (Crelan – Fristads) finished fourth and can call himself overall winner of the 2022-2023 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup.

Van Empel wins thrilling battle for victory in BenidormThe first World Cup race on Spanish soil since Igorre in 2011 was right up Fem van Empel's (Jumbo – Visma) alley. She made it ahead of compatriots Puck Pieterse (Alpecin – Deceuninck) and Shirin van Anrooij (Baloise Trek Lions). Van Empel is also certain of the overall victory in the 2022-2023 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup after this win.

After Dublin, Van Aert also best in the 'Kuil'In Zonhoven, Wout van Aert took his second win of the season in the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup. The Belgian champion soloed to victory and pulled ahead of his rival Van der Poel, who was forced to surrender a position at the front after a crash. Sweeck completed the podium.

Van Anrooij triumphant in the Zonhoven sand dunesIn the women’s race, Van Anrooij cycled solo to victory in the twelfth round of the 2022-2023 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup. After an absolutely thrilling first half, Van Anrooij was able to strengthen her lead in the second half of the race. She beat Pieterse and Van Empel.

A strong Van der Poel claims victory in GavereIn the mud in Gavere, we had a real battle of the titans. After a fantastic clash between the big 3, it was Mathieu van der Poel who triumphed. Wout van Aert finished second, with world champion Tom Pidcock taking third spot on the podium.

Van Anrooij solos to second World Cup win of the seasonDutch rider Shirin van Anrooij has given herself a nice Christmas present. In Gavere, she won her second World Cup round of the season finishing solo. On a tough and muddy course, she left behind her teammate Brand. Pieterse took third place on the podium.

European champion Vanthourenhout crowns himself snow king of Val di SoleSnow and ice created a spectacle in Italy’s Val di Sole. The unique surface gave European champion Vanthourenhout wings. He completed an impressive solo. The young Belgian Vandeputte and the Swiss Kuhn were almost as happy with their second and third places.
