How to get smoothly to the World Cup round in Maasmechelen?
Monday 20 January 2025
On Saturday, January 25, Maasmechelen will set the stage for the final showdown between Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert. Naturally, this will attract a large audience. No youth races will take place, and the weekend also coincides with the sales weekend at Maasmechelen Village, meaning many people will arrive at the same time. Head to Maasmechelen on time and buy your ticket online in advance to avoid long queues at the ticket counter. Find out below what you need to know to reach the course on time!
For those arriving by bike, there is a bicycle parking area at the southern entrance of the French Garden. From there, you are just a few steps away from the course.
Public transport also provides easy access close to the course. Thanks to the new ‘Maasmechelen Village’ bus stop by De Lijn, you will be dropped off about 100 meters from the entrance, right next to the riders’ parking area. You can reach this stop via Line 44 Hasselt – Maasmechelen and Line 63 Maastricht – Maaseik. For Line 44, the Maasmechelen Village stop serves as the terminal twice an hour, while Line 63 passes by once an hour. Use this link to plan your route.
Parking is only available at the Lanklaar industrial zone. These public parking areas are exclusively accessible via E314 Exit 32 Genk-Oost, after which you should follow the "Public Parking UCI World Cup" signs via the N75. Due to the expected crowds at Maasmechelen Village because of the final sale weekend, it is strongly advised not to approach via E314 Exit 33 Maasmechelen. The parkings at Maasmechelen Village and the Terhills Visitor Center will also not be public parking. Access is only possible via the N75. A map and additional details can be found here.
