On Sunday 8 January, the mythical Pit of Zonhoven was the setting for the twelfth round of the 2022-2023 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup. Shirin van Anrooij and Wout van Aert provided the spectacle with two successful solos.
WOMEN ELITE
In the women’s race, Van Anrooij cycled solo to victory in the twelfth round of the 2022-2023 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup. After an absolutely thrilling first half, Van Anrooij was able to strengthen her lead in the second half of the race. She beat Pieterse and Van Empel. Read more.
MEN ELITE
In Zonhoven, Wout van Aert took his second win of the season in the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup. The Belgian champion soloed to victory and pulled ahead of his rival Van der Poel, who was forced to surrender a position at the front after a crash. Sweeck completed the podium. Read more.
